Chris McGovern brings more than 25 years of experience to coaching. He started racing BMX at age 5 and moved on to road racing as a junior. Chris quickly moved through the ranks to spend numerous years on professional teams such as Zaxby’s, Jelly Belly, Health Net, and Sierra Nevada. Chris prides himself with the goal of preparing athletes for the worst possible situations, yet teaching them to always envision the best situation. Chris currently resides in Nevada City, CA. Before returning to his home town in Nevada City, Chris was living in Durango CO. and working as a the cycling coordinator and head coach of the Fort Lewis College Cycling Team, the #1 ranked cycling school in the country. Over the past few years Chris has worked with several organizations including Rad Racing NW and the NorCal High School Cycling League to continue growing his knowledge of developmental cycling.
Chris in recent years has been a coach of USA Cycling cyclocross programs in Europe, including the 2017 World Championships team in Bieles, Luxembourg.
